New

As the automobile became popular among the upper class, a new type of Overcoat was needed to protect one's clothing from the grime of the open road.. Made from sturdy fabrics, the Motoring Coat had no shaping at all and flowed easily from the shoulders. It would become a staple overcoat style in the Edwardian and pre-War period.

Our easy-to-use pattern (based on an original tailor's draft from the period) helps you make a beautiful Motoring Coat!

Fits chests 28" to 48". All sizes in one envelope.

Also included are assembly instructions, embellishment suggestions, and the extensive historical notes you've come to expect from Reconstructing History.

Suggested Fabrics: wool melton, canvas, heavy linen, or other coat weight cloth; linen or lightweight silk for lining
