Dating to the end of the 16th century or possibly the early 17th century, the Tipperary Jacket is very similar to the Killery and Leigh Coats dating from the mid-1600s. Shorter and more stylistically “Elizabethan”, the Tipperary Jacket is typical of the Irish imitation of foreign styles using native tailoring techniques.
